Photo: On August 27, 2005, in the East Hampton Methodist Church, East End NOW hosted a Women's Equality Day event to mark the 85th anniversary of US women's suffrage. Saving Women's Lives focused on US Supreme Court threats to reproductive freedom. Speakers (right to left ) included National NOW Vice President Latifa Lyles,  NOW-NYS President Marcia Pappas, East End NOW President Marilyn Fitterman, and songwriter Sandy Rapp, who led the group in "Remember Rose: A Song For Choice." A surprise guest appearance by award winning actor Mercedes Ruehl drew a huge ovation.

1) ERA - An Equal Rights Amendment to the US Constitution
2) ECONOMIC EQUALITY for women
3) REPRODUCTIVE FREEDOM including abortion rights, and other women's health issues
4) CIVIL RIGHTS for all and countering racism
5) CIVIL RIGHTS for lesbians and gays
6) ENDING VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN

Is NOW funded in any way by the federal government? No, NOW is a non-profit organization which receives all its operating funds from private donations and membership dues.

Is NOW affiliated with any one political party? No, NOW is a non-partisan organization. Candidates of all political parties are eligible for endorsement by NOW/PAC and by state and local NOW Political Action Committees.

Regular Dues, $40 covers national, state and local dues.
Reduced Dues, $15 - $35 is on a for-any-reason sliding scale.
